Small Group Ministry
“MOTIVATION FOR MISSION”
STARTS THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 14TH
(SIGN -UP IN THE NARTHEX)
People crave relationships. Everybody needs someone to talk to. Everyone wants someone to love and someone to love them in return.
The ministry of any church involves relationships. The people who gather together at Covenant have a relationship with their Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ. We also have relationships with one another. The mission of the church is to build more relationships — to bring
others into a faith relationship with Jesus and to foster relationship between Christians. To that end, we will begin a Small Group Ministry
this fall.
We will begin this September with a six-session study called “Motivation for Mission.” This study will help us to understand more clearly
God’s purpose for us and for the Church. It is designed to take the fear out of witnessing and to help people develop their own personal
mission field. We are asking for volunteers to host six small groups. The Small Group sessions can be weekly, monthly, or at whatever
pace works with your life. You could meet at a home, restaurant, or even at church. We are seeking hosts or hostesses to facilitate these
meetings and spread it to family, friends, and neighbors! What a great way to introduce someone to Covenant!
We will be putting more information in the bulletins and newsletters and have a short informational meeting prior to the kick-off for people
interested in hosting. Our goal is to start this “blaze” in September! Starting in September, Pastor Steve will preach sermons that reflect
on each of the six lessons. It does not take a pastor or teacher to be the host or hostess, just the willingness to lead! You could even take
turns in your group. The material will be provided and there is no right or wrong way to present it.
I am also looking for Covenant members to help coordinate this ministry! If you are interested, please contact me at Ernst@dcim.com. I
really need help! All of our lives are crazy and busy, but building relationships and sharing God’s love is what God is calling us to do!
