St. Jude Fund Raiser Successful!
It was 89 degrees in Milwaukee, and who knows how hot it was on the black top, but the Trike-A-Thon went on.  The children
raised $347.00.  I couldn’t be prouder of them.

A group named, “The Milwaukee Bicycle Collective” stepped up to make our Trike-A-Thon even more meaningful.  This group runs
a non-profit bicycle shop that is open to anyone to come and learn how to fix or build a bicycle from scratch.  The shop rehabilitates
donated bicycles and parts and connects them with individuals that put them to use.  It is all run by volunteers.  This group, generously
provided us with much needed bikes for the children that wanted to participate in our Trike-A-Thon, but didn’t have a bike of their
own, or were unable to transport their own bike to daycare.  If you would like more information about this shop, please, check out
their website at, www.BikeCollective.org.  Perhaps you may have a bike taking up space in your garage that you would like to donate
to “The Milwaukee Bicycle Collective”.  What a great way that would be to thank them for helping us out at Covenant Early
Childhood Center, so that we in turn could help St. Jude by raising funds for the children there!

Summer Program
Our summer program is off to a good start.  At the present time, everyone is out of school for the summer.  The children have already
enjoyed two field trips.  The first was hiking at Wirth Park Nature Walk, and the second swimming at the Aquatic Center, in Wirth
Park.  Ms. Jessica, Ms. Joely, and Ms. Beth lead our summer program this year.  I appreciate them for handling the many challenges
that they must encounter every day with that group of mixed ages and personalities.

Toddlers and Twos
Although, our toddlers and twos don’t travel away from the center on field trip days, they have been in the wading pool many times
already this summer.  What a group of bathing beauties we have when they all get together out on the playground.  It’s just priceless to
watch.

Center Hours
The center hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Several nights each week, we still have children getting picked up after 6 p.m.  Our teachers
have their own families waiting for them at home or in one case another job to get to.  Please make getting here on time a priority.
Thank you!

Field Trip Reminder
Permission slips for field trips must be turned in a least a day before the field trip.  Swimming admission fee is $3.25,per child, and the
zoo trip is $5.50, per child.  Please remember that we are taking BAG lunches with us to the zoo.  We will provide a cold beverage
and cover the cost of the bus.

Vacation Plans?
We understand that some schedules will be changing this summer due to family vacations.  Please write down the days that your child
won’t be attending and drop that in the mailbox by my office.  I helps so much to know how many children to plan for on any given
day.  Thank you!

Enjoy the rest of the summer months and remember to thank God for these beautiful days!
