| Pastor Appreciation Sunday October 11, 2009 |
| Prayer used on Pastor Appreciation Sunday Heavenly Father, we thank you today for your work in creation and the abundant blessings that we have as Your children. Thank you for the church, where believers gather to express their faith and obedience such as we do here at Covenant Thank you for the gift of our pastors, which your Word says you gave to your church "to prepare God's people for works of service". Thank you for Pastor Hauser & Pastor Voigt and their faithfulness to your cause. Thank you for their personal commitment to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and to the Word of God. Thank you for the love they have for their wives and family demonstrating a stable and healthy family. Thank you for his thoughtful exposition of your Word, as they heed your call to "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction" (2 Timothy 4:2). Thank you for their leadership in our church and the orderly manner in which they leads us, seeking to fulfill the Biblical call that "all things be done decently and in order" (1 Corinthians 14:40). Thank you for their interest in the flock under their care and the burden that they carry for your people. Thank you for Micki & Sherry for the compliment to our pastors leadership and their service and thoughtfulness as well. May you continue to bless their ministry as they seek to fulfill their call amongst us and thus bring You glory. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ we pray, AMEN. |
Letter To Congregation

Dear Member In Christ,
Greetings in the name of Jesus, our Righteousness and our Strength!
This letter is for the purpose of drawing your attention to the fact that
October is Clergy Appreciation Month,
and
October 11th is Clergy Appreciation Sunday.
You and our congregation are encouraged to consider the instruction of the Apostle as,
under inspiration of the Spirit, he writes:
“We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and
admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work…” (1Thessalonians 5:12-13)
Clergy Appreciation Month is an excellent time for our congregation to demonstrate love, appreciation,
and encouragement for Pastor Voigt, Pastor Hauser, Pastor Gebel, Pastor Ratcliffe and Pastor Meyer. I
have included (on the back) a list of suggestions for you as we celebrate our Pastors as a gift from God
to you and our congregation.
We “Thank You” for the confidence that you have placed on the Pastoral leadership of our congregation,
for all that you do to partner in the efforts “vigorously to make known the love of Christ in word and deed
in our church, our community, and the world.” Thank you also for your personal encouragement and
support to their families, especially during the month of October as we observe Clergy Appreciation
Month.
