It is with great respect that we mourn the loss of Janice Atkinson.
Janice Atkinson, September 11, 1958 - December 19, 2009. Services were held at
Brookfield Lutheran Church on Wednesday, December 23, at 7:00 p.m. She is
survived by her husband, Keith, sons, Joshua, Jordan, and Caleb, and many other
family members and friends.
Janice had been in the teaching ministry since 1981. Janice graduated from
Concordia Portland, Oregon in 1980 having taught in Waco, Texas, Eau Claire,
Wisconsin and had been at Northwest Lutheran School for almost 11 years. Janice
started playing the organ and keyboard at Covenant Lutheran about 8 years ago.
Janice had been involved in church music her whole life starting with singing in choirs
and leading up to beginning to play the organ in the 8th grade at the church where
her Dad was Pastor. Janice said, "It is an honor and a privilege to be able to praise
God through music." Janice was married to Keith Atkinson, who is also a teacher, and
they have been blessed with three wonderful sons, Josh, Jordan and Caleb.
